London rivals Chelsea and Spurs look set to join the race for Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell, according to the Daily Mail.

Rodwell has been linked with a move to Manchester United several times in the past but Sir Alex Ferguson is yet to make a move and has already splashed £17 million in signing Phil Jones from Blackburn Rovers. Now it seems the two London sides are keen on the 20-year old midfielder but Everton are believed to want around £25 million for the youngster who made his Premiership debut in March 2008.

Rodwell is currently with the England Under-21 squad at the European Championships in Denmark and any move would have to come after the tournament. He can play both defence and midfield and his versatility is believed to appeal to both Spurs and Chelsea. He has played 92 times for Everton and signed a new five year contract last summer.

Rodwell is not the only name linked with a move away from Goodison Park this summer. Defenders Leighton Baines and Phil Jagielka could be sold whilst Mikel Arteta has been linked with a return to Spain as the club look to raise funds to rebuild their squad.
